Sweet Beach Duplex

Pros: Great Location obviously, lovely host and vey good value. Some slight niggles but would not stop me staying again. We are a family of 5, adult kids and had plenty of room. Everything you need was there including beach towels, chairs, boards etc. The property was very clean when we arrived. Lots of reviews mention the garage and difficult parking. We had a Jeep Wagoneer and managed to get in our half with no problem. Other unit had a Nissan Rogue and we had no problem both parking. Might be difficult to get a big vehicle out if other one parked

Cons: Just in need of updating, lots of minor niggles due to things being a bit past sell-by. Nothing major and wouldn't stop us returning. No doubt would add to the sticker price if all these things were attended to. I searched very carefully before booking and could not get anywhere near the price for the size and location.

Enjoyed our stay with no problem.

Pros: Darcy is a great host. She saved my ‘’life’’ by finding a compressor to inflate a flat tire, which was good enough to take me to the rental spot to change the car. Location is very good, close to beach, very safe area with an indoors car park which was big enough to just accomodated a Chrysler Pasifica !!! If you want to go to beach, plenty of towels, foldable armchairs and even bikes should you wish to ride. Kitchen was fully equipped and also a washer and dryer was avaliable in the flat. But you have to bring your washing detergent etc... There was a barbecue available on the terrace with a big table for eight people.

Cons: Since it was chilly in the mornings, we couldn’t have breakfast on the terrace. But bar stools were enough for three of us to have breakfast in the house. Later, in the afternoon, terrace was great to start an ‘’happy hour’'.

Perfect beach getaway - loved the bikes, chairs, towels, and easy walk to the shore!

Pros: Sun-kissed skin and salty hair, all within steps! Just spent the most incredible time at a beach house that was all about the essentials - close to the shore and perfect for walking everywhere. Bliss! #beachlife #barefootandhappy #beachgetaway

Cons: Bonus points for the location, minus a few for the slightly temperamental grill situation. It did not light up properly. No biggie. Location made up for it!

Perfect location to enjoy beach and visit LA

Pros: The location is close to the beach. With the right beach weather, you are in the perfect place here. The Newport beach is super clean and 1000 times more beautiful and cleaner than Santa Monica or Venice beach. House has everything necessary. In addition to the beach, other attractions in LA are easily accessible by car.

Cons: We were reasonably lucky with our upstairs neighbors, but if you encounter noisy upstairs neighbors (also a rental apartment) you will definitely hear it.

Pros: We rented the top and bottom floor together but they are completely separated. The top floor deserves an 8 with its two terraces. The bottom one is maybe a 7. Here the couch is worn and it needs a little upgrading hrre and there. The host is very friendly and helpfull.

Cons: The whole neighbourhood is cramped.

Pros: Great location close to the beach. Friendly staff and easy to work with.

Great location! The property manager quickly took care of a small issue. We’d stay again.

Overall we enjoyed the rental and would return during the summer months next time

Pros: We loved the location to the beach even though the weather was not very good and we coud only go the beach 1 day out of 4. We would enjoy coming back in the summer months when we could enjoy the location more! We liked that a garage was included because the street parking was hit and miss.

Cons: EVerything was acceptable to us.

Lovely to have everything in walking distance!

Pros: Location. Spacious for 3 of us. Beach towels , chairs, toys and bicycles. Surprisingly quiet this close to Highway 1

Cons: There are siren and helicopter noise.

Pros: This is our second year in a row coming here & we love it. We rent the whole unit, top & bottom. Soo close to the beach, you have a liquor store, coffee shops, & jack in the box in the shopping center across the street. Literally walking distance, 2mins top. Darcy listened to every suggestion from last year & the house is so much better. The rug that had everyone tripping was removed, the cushions on the outside patio were upgraded, the outlets around the house all work now. The house was ready earlier than last year so that’s a plus. The little AC’s in the living rooms are amazing. I wish each room had something similar instead of fans because the rooms get extremely stuffy. Maybe adding a window air conditioner in every room will help with the stuffiness.

Cons: We didn’t like that being there for 3 nights there was only one roll of toilet paper in the restrooms and there wasn’t any hand soap either. We bring all of our toiletries but didn’t think we needed to bring that as well. So we had to pause & go shopping for everything else. There’s not a big variety of kitchen supplies available, so maybe buying more kitchenware would help a lot. Those were the only cons, but nothing too bad to never come here again. I’m sure we’ll be here next year, year #3.
