La Jolla Townhouse steps away from Windansea beach

Comfortable condo in a great location

Pros: We stayed for three nights at this condo in La Jolla and overall had a great experience. The apartment was exactly as described and very comfortable. The location is excellent — a short walk to a supermarket, cafes, and a 7‑Eleven, with the main streets of La Jolla about a 20‑minute walk away (30-minutes if you go along the beautiful stretch of beach).

Cons: The hosts were very responsive before our arrival, though a bit less so during our stay—this may have been due to messages going through the booking.com system. A few minor points worth mentioning for future guests and maintenance: The top‑floor bedroom is an open gallery overlooking the living room. This layout worked fine for us, but it wasn’t mentioned in the description and might not suit everyone. Only one of the 10 living room blinds works, one of the living room windows leaks slightly during heavy rain, there’s a small crack in one of the wooden planks beside the bed in the top bedroom, and the screws securing the window locks near the entrance need tightening. The heating and cooling system could also use a tune‑up, as it tends to make the upper floor quite warm while the lower ones stay cool. The parking space was too small to park our car and the second one was taken so we had to park in the road outside, which was fine. None of these issues detracted much from the stay, and we’d still happily recommend the condo for its space, comfort, and great location near the beach.

Our overall stay was good and acceptable, but I would choose to find a better location to stay if we return to La Jolla.

Pros: The inside was nice and location to the beach was very good.

Cons: Parking instructions were not as advertised. We had to park on the street, though it was advertised as having two available spaces. One was taken and the other was too small and blocked access to the rear trash cans. When I parked in the wrong space, though it was not marked for another unit, the owner was absolutely irate that I parked in their spot and would not settle down. She was really upset and said this happens every time. My opinion is that she should mark her parking spot with a sign so there will know that it’s hers. Several things didn’t work or were broken: only one of the ten powered ceiling blinds operated (too much heat gain in the living room), handle on small window in the kitchen broke when opening and closing, some door levers were loose and needed tightening, towel rack in lower bathroom kept falling off, only one burner on the stove worked, both rear wooden gates don’t open correctly or all the way because they very old and need a replacement. Also, the neighbors were pretty loud, but settled down at around midnight.

Amazing stay and very responsive hosts. We would love to stay again

Pros: Lovely layout. Very relaxing. Love how close it is to the beach.

Cons: Needs a ceiling fan in the living room.

Pros: Alles war sehr sauber. Sehr gräumig und schön.. Die Lage war sehr zufriedenstellend.

Pros: The location is amazing! We loved the beach. It is a little rocky in places but still swimmable. And it is so close to the condo. The condo is very nice, clean, and modern. The host is friendly, helpful, and easy to reach. We would like to stay here again.

The property and location are a gem.

Pros: Clean and well appointed with a parking space and view of the ocean, could not ask for more.

Cons: Did not find a welcome binder, but everything was available at the property. Booking message replies could have been more prompt.

Pros: It is literally steps away from the beach!!! Awesome !

Cons: I liked the property it’s just that the living room area gets extremely hot!
