ITH San Diego Beach Bungalow Surf Hostel

Friendly relaxed place right by the beach

Pros: Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Location right on the beach, perfect to get to the Ocean with plenty of walkable options for food around.

Cons: The private room was right next to reception and even though a sign said it would be quiet after 10pm I had music from the common area all the way till the early morning, so not ideal to sleep.

This hostel felt like home.

Pros: I stayed at the ITH Beach Bungalow for 9 days and it was one of the most relaxing stays I've ever had. I booked a private room upstairs (which includes a private bathroom / shower and a private mini fridge). This gave me the perfect balance between joining in on activities / socializing and coming back to myself. I recommend it to any fellow introvert ;) The beach location is ideal and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I loved the breakfast pancakes and the communal kitchen, both great cost-savers for my trip! Also loved drinking some morning coffee in the hammocks overlooking the beach. The wifi connection was great, upstairs in my room too. Finally, thanks to the laundromat, dryer and iron I could get through my whole trip with only hand luggage and a backpack. If I ever return to San Diego, I will come back here for sure!

Pros: The friendliest staff going. Always a smile and a compliment. Incredible location, the beach is such a selling point but also close to so many great cafes, bars, shops and restaurants

Amazing

Pros: As a solo traveler this was the best hostel i have stayed in. Everyone is socializing, the staff is great and they organize events every day. Also the location can’t get any better than this.

Pros: The location was great, right in front of the beach. Also great vibe to meet new people.

Cons: The room looked a bit old and cramped. Also, when I arrived, I sounded the doorbell multiple times and no one showed up to check me in for quite a while

Cons: Backpacker-style, don't expect much comfort. The young hostel crowd was sometimes a bit intense, mostly the guys, but that's not the hostel's fault.
