California Dreams Hostel - Ocean Beach

Chill vibe, cheap and (in general) friendly staff

Pros: What a big difference compared to the Pacific Coast hostel. The people working there, the girls and Thomas were really friendly. The other guys not at all but I don't know what job they did or they were just the boyfriends of the girls. In general a really chill and good vibe with the other people. The breakfast was also a bit better, cereals which were more healthy, bagels with seeds and not just plain ones. A bigger kitchen. So I don't understand how the ocean beach and the Pacific beach have exactly the same score for the review.

I would definitely stay again, great option.

Pros: Very convinient for a solo traveler that will spend most of the day outside and just arrive to sleep. Easy access, good wifi, clean facilities. Good price value. Earplugs are key and you will sleep like a baby.

Cons: Bed was just fine, mattress needs replacement or better quality.

Expensive but good and quiet

Pros: Good and quiet hostel, not too big, clean. The zone is quiet, free parking around.

Cons: A bit expensive for an hostel. Not close to services ad social activities.

Pros: The kitchen is super clean. Breakfast in the morning was great. Staff are so nice. There’s a room that has a chess board and tons of board games, darts board. The pool is lovely has a floatie. Nicest hostel Iv ever stayed in.

Cons: It is a bit far from most things. Took around 50 minuets to walk to sunset cliffs and to go to the beach we walked half way and Ubered the rest. That’s the only slight issue but the neighbour hood is lovely and safe and has cafes and shops near by.

Great hostel, good vibes, if I'm back in San Diego I'd 100% choose this one again

Pros: Great location, not far from the city or the beach. Quiet neighborhood, nice outdoor garden with hammock and couches, comfy TV room, decent parking possibilities around. Great helpful friendly team, they made my stay even nicer.

Cons: Nothing that I can really think of. It's a hostel, so if people snoring are a problem to you, bring earplugs. It'd be nice to have hooks inside the bunk beds to hang a towel as separation for privacy, but really nitpicking.

Pros: Location was amazing, lots of options for lunch & snacks & a bus stop just around the corner

A good place, reasonably priced in San Diego

Pros: Room was clean and comfortable. It was just what I needed. Shared facilities were good.

Cons: Airplane noise was a little loud but I knew that would happen.

A very cool little hostel

Pros: The property was in a quiet, residential area so felt very safe at night and it was a nice 30 min walk down to Ocean Beach. We liked how friendly the staff were and it felt very casual and relaxed overall; like a home away from home. The breakfast was a nice added touch and the bed was comfortable. The bathrooms were (although shared) very clean / tidy. The WiFi was strong.

Cons: Nothing negative to say here!

Pros: You definitely need a car, by car very close to sunset cliffs and OB. Room is small but good. Breakfast was good as well

Introduced an OC mate to hostels and he was very impressed too

Pros: Really good hostel. Has twin rooms or dorms. Caters for all ages (+18) and provides a continental type breakfast. Friendly place everyone talks to each other in the communal lounge/kitchen areas. Washrooms very clean as well. Good location near Nth Harbour Drive. Mate had car so didn’t use public transport but it looked a good network.
