Gaslamp Hostel

This hostel is ideally located and has incredible staff! It's amazing for a first-time hostel stay!

Pros: The staff were absolutely lovely. I really enjoyed the events organized in the lounge on certain evenings. The free breakfast is a very welcome bonus. The hostel is ideally located within walking distance of the embarcadero, the Midway Museum, Seaport Village, Downtown, and Little Italy. Public transportation is also very easily accessible from the hostel. As a woman traveling alone, staying in a hostel for the first time, I always felt completely safe. I had an incredible stay and highly recommend this hostel!

Cons: There was a slight smell of sewage in the showers, but nothing unbearable.

Pros: My favorite hostel in the US hands down the staff, the location, the cleanliness, the aesthetic - all 10/10 10 minute walk from San Diego Convention Center & so close to so many fun clubs Definitely recommend Can’t wait to come back

Great value for the price

Pros: I needed a place for one night, and it met all my expectations. It was clean, the reception guy was nice, and the room was surprisingly quiet given all the party outside. Nice stay :)

Cons: I could only wish that the breakfast hours were earlier, or that there would be a way to have breakfast in case of checking out early. Other than that - no complaints :)

One of the best hostels Ive stayed in honestly

Pros: fantastic stay! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The rooms, common areas, kitchen and especially the bathrooms were always very clean and clearly maintained throughout the day. Check in/out was easy, Breakfast was great The location is absolutely perfect, surrounded by things to do in walking distance and very easy to get to from the airport. The hostel has a great, young crowd and a really friendly, social atmosphere, making it easy to meet people. It was surprisingly quiet at night in the dorms at night even though there is so much activity happening outside. I felt comfortable, safe and at home during my stay and honestly can’t wait to stay here again. Can really tell a lot of love has gone into this hostel. Highly recommend!

Pros: Good location, super clean bathroom and great staff

Pros: It was Oct 31st, there was a Halloween party staff's effort and motivation weregreat. They offered some snacks and beer and coctails. You can get a parking pass until 11 am next day for 20 USD,a 3 mins walking Public Park. There was a miscommunication and misinformation about parking but they fixed it gently. Decoration was good. Location is great.

Cons: Breakfast must ne improved. By adding a few things you can make the guests happier. Especially while you are generous for the party, I was surprised with seeing only some orange an cereal at the breakfast. Breakfast is related to happines in a way to start the day while travelling:)

Thoroughly recommend: exceptional location, value, service and facilities. I will be back!

Pros: An exceptional hostel. Located central in the gaslanmp district. Excellent facilities, staff and amazing value for money. They have thought of everything - well considered for the benefit of the clientele.
