Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Carlsbad Beach by IHG

Pros: Short walk to a very nice beach. Really friendly staff. It was great value for money with a reasonable breakfast included. A great stop on our journey through California.

Very easy, will stay again!

Pros: Breakfast, heated pool, ease of use of laundry area, easy parking, easy text capability to request for items or having questions.

Cons: The pool away bed was very easy to feel the springs. It didn't have the thicker blanket to begin with so we needed to ask which was easy to do. The room felt dark in general.

Clean and good location

Pros: The hotel was clean and decent like any other Holiday inn I stayed at.

Cons: What I hated the most is the cleaning of the grass at 7:30am outside my room again while trying to sleep in after a long journey. I would suggest to the hotel stuff to have handyman person coming at least after 9am. Give people time to sleep in, not everyone wakes up at 7am. Attached a picture proof that I am not making this up :D

Wonderful stay!

Pros: Clean comfortable rooms. Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff. Great hot tub and pool. Breakfast was wonderful, nice selection and switched up each day.

Comfortable with adequate facilities.

Pros: Comfortable room, good continental breakfast, 24H coffee and tea.

Cons: A bit dated, but good value.

Enjoyed my stay with IHG of Carlsbad

Pros: It is a great location and staff were friendly. Clean facilities for the most part. Nice breakfast offerings too.

Cons: Wish the beds were more comfortable, they were very firm mattresses. I was surprised at some of the rust happening in the bathroom too, especially considering all else was in good repair.

Pros: I absolutely loved how helpful the front desk was upon arriving and checking in. And the convenient breakfast of course is always a great easy way to start the morning on any trip! And they had all the yummy stuff so the kids to munch on

Cons: Was told I'd be given at late 2pm check out and came back to our room at 1135 to it being cleared out and our stuff thrown away. Luckily we got most of it back, minus a few Legos

Pros: Robert, at the front desk, balances professionalism and being personable very well. He's knowledgeable about activities in the area and makes great suggestions.

Cons: I suppose it has to be done on an older property but, we don't like the scented odor left after a room cleaning. I'd like to recommend a test using a time honoured product which will dissipate in a matter of hours; vinegar. It's anti-mold, antibacterial and the scent goes away.

Pros: Everything was clean and personal very nice and amazing
