Great location, excellent staff, comfortable bed.

Pros: Great location, lovely staff, and comfortable room. Would have liked if there was a bar in the hotel but this was not a big issue given all the other places to go which are very close by.

Cons: The bedroom was a little tight and the hotel is clearly quite old, but everything was clean and tidy and the location really is very good.

Pros: The staff were amazing. Access to the roof terrace was an amazing and beautiful surprise, top that with a free coffee machine and filtered water dispenser up there exelent idea and very much appreciated. The hotel was very clean with good security maybe slightly dated if your picky but we absolutely loved it.

Cons: Not a lot you could really complain about with this hotel in all honesty, slightly dated but very well maintained and very clean so all good.

Beautiful hotel with rich history

Pleasant, downtown hotel in great location.

Pros: The hotel was very clean and comfortable, and the rooftop kitchen and outside were very good with free and unlimited hot drinks and water. The room was comfortable and spacious with fridge and hot drinks making facility. The location in downtown/Gaslamp Quarter was superb, short walk to bars/restaurants/supermarkets and public transport stops. The staff were always friendly, polite and very helpful.

Cons: The hotel was good, and there was nothing I didn't like.

Pros: lovely room and building. vintage in a nice way. would stay again. very clean. recently refurbed bathroom. could do with a couple of shelves in the bathroom away from the sink. hate the hairdryer - get a better one.

Cons: charged me for valet parking but i didnt use it - and it was $45 USD per day! street parking wasn't a lot but worked out a lot cheaper. sketchy streets outside. shower in bathroom too low for most people.

Great experience and location of you want to be in the lively bar area of San Diego

Pros: Spotless shared roof terrace with fabulous view (indoor and outdoor with seating and dining area) to take your own food and drink to. Coffee machine and water also provided up there as well as ice machine.

Cons: Noisy air con but I’ve never had a quiet one in any hotel so I’m not sure this is a problem they could fix.

Pros: Lovely large, clean room, friendly welcome and gaslamp location, enjoyed our short stay.

Amazing experience

Pros: I checked into the Gaslamp Plaza Suite hotel this afternoon, and the front desk gave me a free room upgrade—what a pleasant surprise! The room has a dedicated bathroom with separate wet and dry areas, a microwave, a small coffee maker, a sofa, a TV, a desk, and two large windows. Moreover, the tissues and towels are folded into beautiful shapes. There's free coffee on the top floor of the hotel, and they even gave me a $6 bus card, which allows unlimited rides on any bus until 11 p.m. The front desk staff was especially thoughtful and told me about the tourist routes. It's a great hotel! I'll stay here again next time I come.

Cons: It is better to provide an electric kettle and slipper if necessary.
