Room for improvement

Pros: Location is great. Staff is nice and comunication with the hotel before arrival was excellent

Cons: The rooms are very small. I already knew this, as it’s not my first time staying at Palihotel San Diego, but this time the room was even smaller and had no window to the outside—only to a kind of dark courtyard. Getting into the lift while carrying bags and having only one free hand was very tricky. I was afraid of getting my fingers caught in the scissor-style folding door, as you have to hold the main, very heavy door at the same time. I found this very inconvenient, and there was no one around to offer assistance. The payment system I find it confusing as well. Also, when I checked out the room wasn't checked straight away and you never know if any issue will come up after you left. It should made simpler. The room cleaning service now has to be requested the day before which is something extra to remember when you are trying to have a relax time. I stayed for 3 nights and I forgot to request the cleaner in advance so my room was never cleaned.

Pros: Hotel is located in entertaining area, lots of bars and restaurants around. Friendly staff. Room was very cozy and well equipped with snacks, drinks and other utilities, bed was extremely comfy.

Gorgeous quirky hotel, the rooftop is very cool and the rooms comfy.

Cons: The shower wasnt running hot water and the air con wasnt working when we arrived. However once we told the staff it was fixed right away.

Cool hotel in a not so cool neighbourhood

Pros: Room is a bit dated but that's part of the charm. Bed was super comfortable. Toiletries were nice.

Cons: Lift is too slow. Downtown San Diego is not that appealing, would pick La Jolla cove instead.

Celebrating dads 80th birthday in downtown San Diego

Pros: Staff were lovely and friendly. I had booked this trip for my dad’s 80th birthday and was given a voucher for a drink each for the bar. My dad particularly enjoyed the sweets that were in reception every day! Room was lovely and clean and well appointed

Cons: The lift was an old fashioned one with a door then a gate to pull open that was quite dangerous, didn’t like that! Also I booked a suite - there were no windows in the bedrooms, very clever use of materials to give the illusion of curtains. In the seating area the windows there were overlooking a courtyard that was very dark which in turn made the room dark and very hard to judge the outside weather

Pros: Excellent hotel in a great location. The room was very comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. We really appreciated the attention to detail and the warm atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Pros: Nice room and good bed. Modern with a old touch. I liked it.

Cons: They didn't clean the room every day, even if I had requested it. Elevator was slow. You needed to spend some time to wait for the elevator.

Pros: Comfortable and clean hotel and the staff were excellent.

Cons: Little bit noisy at night due to the location but ear plugs were provided

Pros: Stayed here 3 times in the past 5 weeks. Just a lovely hotel.
