Glorietta Bay Inn

Location location location. Great value for a superb stay in Coronado

Pros: The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic. The staff are lovely and really helpful. Room was dated but clean and exactly what was portrayed on the photos so it wasn’t a surprise. We didn’t realise a basic breakfast was included and although we mainly ate out it was nice to be able to grab a coffee / juice in the morning if we wanted so that was a bonus. Pool is small but pleasant. They lend you body boards / chairs / towels for the beach. Given how expensive it is to stay on Coronado it’s exceptional value for the location. We paid for 7 nights what 3 at the Del across the road would have cost us.

Cons: The bed cover (duvet) might be a British thing but I prefer one that keeps the duvet inside it and isn’t open on all sides.

Pros: Breakfasts were phenomenal consisting of 3 + prepared hot offerings, freshly cut fruit, cereals, granola, toasters to make your own toast to order, and full on coffee / espresso / latte machine dispensers… plus more. The indoor lounge for eating and the outdoor patios provided beautiful spaces for pausing to begin each day. Loved that beach chairs and umbrellas were available for taking to beach.

Nice historical accomodation. Average dining/common areas. Expensive relative to facilities provided.

Cons: rooms fine. dining area average. range of food and where to eat it limited. seemed very expensive for equivalent five-star hotels with bar/more comprehensive dining areas. i think this is probably a generalisable observation for all USA accomodation currently though.

Amazing

Pros: We stayed in mansion. It was spacious, clean, beds were super comfy, and huge balcony with amazing view. Loved it, loved it!

Pleasant stay, great location

Pros: Pretty architecture, nice view and setting, great location to access everything.

Cons: Everything about the room felt aged, and not well renovated. The tile work in the bathroom and the carpets and trim all just felt meh. It was clean, small and overall fine. Just not amazing.

Pros: Walkable distance to all things downtown Coronado. Breakfast and COFFEE!!

Historical elegance on the water

Pros: It a modernized old historical mansion with lots of history. The charm and stateliness of the building is worth the stay.

Cons: We stayed in one of the noted suites overlooking the bay. The mornings in the water were to die for…
